How to take your schengen visa photo at home

  1. 1

    Set up a plain background

Stand in front of a plain light (white, off-white, or light grey) wall or hang a white sheet behind you. Make sure the lighting is even — no harsh shadows on your face or the background.

  2. 2

    Position yourself correctly

Face the camera directly with a neutral expression. Keep your head straight (not tilted). Your eyes should be open and clearly visible.

  3. 3

    Take the photo

Use a smartphone camera (front camera works well) or have someone take it for you. The photo should be at least 413x531 pixels. Make sure the image is sharp and not blurry.
